A woman has been arrested for attempting to steal packages from the doorstep of a house by the man who lived there after a video of the incident went viral.
The clip, which was released by police in Alhambra, California, last week, shows the woman walking away from the house carrying two boxes, but the homeowner caught her red-handed and started filming, telling her: ‘You know I live here?’
However police were able to track down the ‘package thief’ after posting the video to their Facebook page, immediately getting messages from people believing they knew who she was.
Rianna Medina, 20, of Montebello, was arrested on Friday and booked on suspicion of one count of felony grand theft.
Authorities say they tracked her to a hotel room in Rosemead and took her into custody without incident.
Her bail has been set at $25,000, KTLA reported.
The homeowner’s cellphone video has been viewed on the Alhambra police Facebook page nearly 500,000 times.

The man said the packages were replacement items for things recently stolen from his car.
Alhambra Police Department shared the video on Facebook on Thursday and made the arrest on Friday.
They thanked the members of the public that came forward with information.
