Producer Council Warning To Actor Vishal

Actor Vishal’s recent interview with a leading Tamil magazine about the Producers’ Council and its members, has created a new controversy. He had said that the Council had taken no active measures to curb piracy, or tackle the problems of satellite rights.

As the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, he has been actively fighting piracy for a while now, visiting shops where pirated DVDs of new films are sold.
In fact, the actors’ series of tweets shows how he urges the entire industry to come together and work on this issue. He had said that the Producers’ Council needed unselfish members who would solve issues with an open mind.

On Tuesday, the Producers’ Council convened an urgent meeting in order to respond to Vishal’s strong statement. Speaking to Express, producer Suresh Kamatchi said, “Vishal has to apologise for what he said. How can he say that if we have issues related to payments etc., we organise meetings with snacks on the table? Also why would he say that every producer was unhappy with the Council’s office bearers? Of late, he has been giving interviews in a way that stirs problems.” Producer Council Warning To Actor Vishal

He added, “Vishal had complained of the Nadigar Sangam earlier, and took over the Sangam, now does he want to do the same with the Producers’ Council as well?” Producer Council Warning To Actor Vishal

Meanwhile, reliable sources say, “So far, no actor has complained against the Producers’ Council and Vishal is trying to do all this for attention.”

Speaking at the meeting, Kalaipuli Thanu said, “No producer has attained profit by doing films with Vishal. He shouldn’t have spoken that way. Also, people who are with Vishal should educate him on the same and make him understand that what he told was wrong.”

Manobala, AL Alagappan, Mansoor Ali Khan and Radhakrishnan were among the many who attended the meeting. Producer Council Warning To Actor Vishal
